Mode 01 · Corridor cam 11

The Hallway. The door at the end is closed.

A corridor on a fixed camera, empty and lit. Nothing enters and nothing leaves, and the door keeps its own counsel.

Sound on · Level 3 · Sudden scares

A corridor. The door at the end is closed.

What you are watching

Corridor cam 11: strip lighting, a floor with a slight sheen, a closed door at the far end. A fixed camera and no cuts, so every change is one you have to notice for yourself. This is the most patient of the four scenes and the least generous about telling you when to look.

What goes wrong here

The corridor's hit comes from above and from the end of the hall at once. Because the geometry is so plain, small deviations register hard — a reflection that holds a beat too long, a length of hallway that measures differently than it did. Afterwards the door is closed again, and somebody closed it.

How it is made

The same corridor is the setting for Slow Burn, where it runs for ten minutes and never pays off at all. Here it is on a short fuse. Running the identical space under both rules is the point: the room is not scary, and the room is where it happens.

The other three

Somewhere else, then.
